This is a new construction single family residence. The challenge on the project was the high water table in conjunction with a finished basement and sub-basement. These spaces were comprised of important finished spaces such as a basketball court, theatre, bar and other amenity spaces.
The high water table demanded a design that required “rock-anchors,” which were structural components that secure the foundation in place, to keep the foundation secure against strong hydrostatic pressures from groundwater. The rock-anchors were subject for many design consdierations both in the planning and construction phases.
Forward Work/ provided foundation waterproofing consultation, as well as QA/QC site monitoring services during construction.
